Lake Piru Recreation Area Map and More Information

Lake Piru is located in Ventura County, California, in the Los Padres national Forest next to the Sespe Condor Sanctuary. From our foothill lake, you are less than an hour away from the uncrowded beaches of Ventura or Hollywood and Universal Studios. We offer visitors excellent boating, trout and bass fishing, camping, water skiing, swimming and hiking.

Traveling on Highway 101, in Ventura, take Highway 126 east to the Piru turnoff. From Highway 5, just north of Magic Mountain in Valencia, take Highway 126 west to the Piru turnoff.

Waterskiing is Allowed

General Rules

Fires in designated grills and rings only.
No Swimming or wading except in designated area.
Pets must be licensed, leashed and not allowed in water.
Noise: The operation of amplifying equipment so as to disturb others at any time is prohibited.
Speed limit is 5 M.P.H. unless otherwise posted

Camping

Fees are charged per vehicle.
Quiet time is 10 p.m. to 8 a.m.
Campsite renewal is by 10 a.m.
Check out time is 2 p.m.

Swimming

Restricted to beach area only.

Fishing

All California regulations are applicable.
California license is required.
